6.16.14 – 16.50

subtle breezes
lift heavy, leaf-laden branches
off the forest floor, sprinkling
summer and sunshine
over and across our eyelids

i look towards you, but all i can find
is myself, looking lost and lonely and vulnerable
and all i want, desperately, is to curl up
in the heart of your palm and fade away,
cradled in your pulse
